Ancash offers the very popular hot springs of Monterrey, located at less than seven kilometers of the city of Huaraz and at 2,703 m.a.s.l. Its waters, that reach a temperature of 49 degrees Celsius are prescribed to fight rheumatism, nervous affections and paralysis, among others illnesses.
In the middle of a beautiful valley and very close to the Copa Mountain, at 2,800 m.a.s.l. and at 30 kilometers from Huaraz, hot springs of Chancos are located. These thermal fountains reach temperatures between 68 and 72 degrees Celsius, here there is a variety of small lagoons and a vaporario, that is a cave where the steam of the lagoons gets concentrated and to where patients of respiratory inflammations go complete their thermal priest with drinks and inhalations.
Much more higher, at 3,137 m.a.s.l. and at 2 km from Chavin de Huantar, in the province of Huari, is where hot springs of Chavin are located. This town, located at 109 kilometers from Huaraz, gets very popular between the months of May and October. Its waters are ideal for rheumatism and skin diseases.
