Day 01 : Lima / Juliaca
Arrival in Juliaca and transfer to Puno (located at 20 kms). Day free for acclimatization.
Day 02 : Puno / Chucuito
Early breakfast and excursion to the Temple of Fertility in Chucuito (18 kms from Puno). Here we will observe several archaeological pre Inca remains and monuments such as the famous Inca Uyo. Return to Puno. Overnight.
Day 03 : Puno / Uros / Taquile
Early breakfast and transfer to the local pier. Then we will visit the floating islands of Uros. Main Activities in these Islands -made of totora- are fishing, hunting, and taxidermy. After a 40 minutes visit we will continue by boat to Taquile Island. Taquile is an Island of beautiful landscapes and friendly people, we will observe some archaeologicla remains belonging to the Tiahuanaco Culture. Lunch, visit to the local market, and transfer back to Puno. Overnight.
Day 04 : Puno / Sillustani / Juliaca
Breakfast and transfer to Puno, on the way we will visit the archaeological center of Sillustani. We will observe impressive funeral tombs belonging to the Kolla culture (1200-1450). Their noble class (Caciques, priests) were buried in funeral towers called chullpas. Their corpses were previously mummified and placed in fetus position together with some of their belongings, such as gold and silver objects, jewelry, ceramics, and food. Then we continue towards the city of Juliaca. Transfer to the airport, train, or bus station.
