Arequipa, the land of volcanoes and white sillar stone, also offers interesting spots for tourists, such as Yura, 30 km north of the city of Arequipa (2,575 meters), where a tourist hotel in excellent condition is preparing its re-inauguration for the end of the year. Average temperatures in the Yura baths run at around 34°C, and each of the baths and pools alleviate all kinds of ailments, including rheumatism, anemia, heart, skin and nervous problems and metabolism-related ailments.
Just as important are the famous Aguas de Jesús baths, which can receive visitors all year round. The baths lie just 9 km from Arequipa and at an altitude of 2,305 meters. Temperatures in the pools run at 21°C, while the mineral waters are bottled for consumption.
