Algarrobal El Moro Reserved Zone was established on January 13, 1995 by Law (D.S.) N 02-95-AG, it is located in the department of La Libertad, province and district of Chepen and it has a surface of 320,69 hectares.

Goals of the Algarrobal El Moro Reserved Zone are to protect as the fauna as the carob tree forest as well as preserve the archaeological sites of the Moche and Chimu cultures.
