The Chancay Baños Reserved Zone was established on February 14, 1996, by Law (D.S.) N 001-96-AG. It is located in the department of Cajamarca, province of Santa Cruz, district of Chancaybaños and it has a surface of 2628 hectares. In this area we can fond the area called Los Baños where there are thermal waters.
Local fauna include several birds and animals such as the chiroque, cernícalos and ducks.
Main purpose of the Chancay Baños Reserved Zone is to protect and preserve the thermal waters and the wild fauna living in it.
